Last night we celebrated my birthday with a little cocktail party (which was much lovelier than my actual birthday last week). We had some friends and family over, and partied it up. My husband, who is a rock star in the bar tending department, kept the drinks flowing till the late night hours.
The Larissatini was the specialty and favorite of the evening, so I thought I’d share it with you all. Because let’s face it, everyone likes a good martini. The recipe calls for lychee, which is an Asian fruit that can be found in the ethnic foods aisle of most grocery stores.
Enjoy one (or three, like I did), and let me know what you think!
The Larissatini
2 shots light rum
1/2 shot vermouth
1 shot lychee syrup
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well, strain into a martini glass, and garnish with a lychee.
Glad you had a good time! Your drink sounds fab 😉 I love lychee martinis! I actually made a drink at the bar I was at on Friday night, and it managed to come out pretty good even tho it was missing 2 ingredients! 🙂

Waaah! I’ll have to find a source for lychee syrup back home, because I sure won’t find it here. Yes, a good martini (especially one named after you!) is always something to appreciate. Cin-cin!!

That sounds delicious!! There is a bar here in Columbus that has martinis for $2 during happy hour, and the selection is incredible. And oh by the way, did I mention they were $2? And so strong that two pretty much knock me out for the night? Yum!
